Did you know that you can find out what's going on in your community by going to the Western BOP District Council website and have your say on just about anything.  You can make submissions where and when required.

There is currently a resource consent application with WBOPDC for a Highway Service Station to be located on our friendly Fruitlands Store site.  Submissions to the proposal were called for, and our Chairperson Linda Ross and others have put in personal submissions to this proposal.

Go to the WBOPDC site for the resource consent application details.

Spark advise the following: This Cell Phone Tower is on a Spark owned site on state highway 33. The Spark tech team advise that from 11/5/15 it is operating for Spark Sim Cards only. They advise the  3G Network has "good" coverage. 4G Network  has "fair" coverage.
Vodafone advise the following: The tower in Paengaroa was “switched on” in April this year as part of the Government’s Rural Broadband Initiative (RBI). Our new tower is designed to improve mobile coverage in the area, and make high-speed wireless broadband available to over 800 rural addresses for the first time.
Whenever we switch on a new tower or upgrade our infrastructure, customers tell us the significant difference access to high-speed broadband makes to their everyday lives. Basic online activities like web browsing, streaming content and online shopping – things that are taken for granted in urban areas – are more accessible with RBI.
Vodafone encourage residents to use our online address checker to see what broadband services are available to them, and people living at eligible locations can sign up to a Rural Wireless Broadband solution starting from $90 a month.
If people in your community would like to know more about the improved services now available in your area they can go to http://www.vodafone.co.nz/network/rural/.
