Community Meeting changed to 5th December 2018.     Paengaroa Hall 7pm
28th July 2019   Our Association has been notified of the following from Dean Flavell
Te Maru O Kaituna River Authority Chairman
Today the Kaituna River Document: Kaituna he taonga tuku iho - a treasure handed down, has been publicly notified as approved.
The document will have legal effect from 1 August 2018.
Thank you to everyone that has given their time, energy, wairua (spirit), and aroha (love) to this kaupapa (project). The Kaituna River Document brings together the connections, concerns and aspirations of the whole community in relation to the taonga (treasure) that is the Kaituna.
The Kaituna River Document provides a pathway for us all to work together to care for the awa (river) that has and will continue to be the lifeblood of many generations of local people. I’m proud to see the values and work of our people shared in this way, and I’m looking forward to working with iwi, local government and community partners to make the vision and outcomes in this document a reality.
Full and summary versions of the document are available online as is the decisions on submissions report:
